AfriMillions has crossed one million tickets sold since it launched in Nigeria on February 6th 2026, a milestone reached in under seven months by a platform that did not exist at the start of the year.

The company runs a weekly progressive jackpot opening at ₦1 billion, drawn every Saturday evening and broadcast live on Wazobia Max television and radio, with results verified by certified independent observers. It operates under licence from the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, whose Chief Executive, Bashir Abiola-Are, attended the inaugural draw. Tickets are sold online, through authorised agents and across point-of-sale terminals nationwide, and a forthcoming feature will allow up to ten people to share a single ticket digitally.

The draw infrastructure comes from the ATL Group across three divisions: Smartplay supplies the draw machines, ALOT Systems the omnichannel platform and ATL Prizes the cover that guarantees the jackpot payout. “We are delighted to be supporting them with everything needed to sell tickets, result live draws and promote a life-changing jackpot from day one,” said Mike Carruthers, Chief Executive of the ATL Group.

By May the jackpot had rolled to ₦1.2 billion, and the company used the moment to reward the players who came closest to it. Amos Osibodu and Jonathan Anioke each matched five of six numbers in separate draws and were flown to Lagos for what AfriMillions called the One Number Away Experience. “We wanted to show Nigerians that every close attempt carries value,” the platform said.

Next is the ambition AfriMillions set out from the beginning: the first genuinely pan-African progressive lottery.
